Membership

Become a Member

Membership is open to any individual, family, business or organization that (a) subscribes to the purposes of the Association and (b) owns or leases property for at least one month each year, on, or in the neighborhoods within one mile surrounding Shishebogama or Gunlock Lakes.  Dues are $25 per membership paid on a fiscal year basis January 1 to December 31.

  • Support Core Programs: Your membership helps fund essential programs like Clean Boats Clean Waters (CBCW), Aquatic Invasive Species (AIS) monitoring, Shoreline Protection, Fisheries Management and Social Activities.
  • Stay Informed: Receive our official newsletter and email updates with important SGLA news, lake information and social events.  
  • Have a Voice: As a member, you have voting rights at the annual meeting on key issues and the election of the Board of Directors, giving you a direct say in the association’s direction.
  • Community Connection: Receive invitations to all SGLA social events with the ability to RSVP using our SignUp program.  

How to Join:

  1. Online: We use a secure online portal here where you can renew and pay your membership and make donations online.  NOTE:  This portal was for 2025 dues – we will notify you when online portal for 2026 dues is ready.  
  2. Mail: Download the membership form below and mail it with your check (payable to SGLA) to:

The heart of our association is our membership, and we value every person who chooses to support our mission.  Rosters of our members on Gunlock and Shish lakes are below; these may no be 100% accurate as changes occur on a regular basis but we do our best to keep these updated for you!

While membership dues cover the operational expenses of the association, special projects—such as major AIS monitoring and mitigation, Clean Boats Clean Waters program, social events, fish stocking, and our buffer garden initiative often require additional resources. Your tax-deductible donation is deeply appreciated and allows us to pursue these vital projects more effectively.
